Incorporated in 1994, South Johor Steel Sdn. Bhd. factory is strategically located in Johor, the southern part of Malaysia with a land area measuring 4 acres. With the collaborative support of all our partners, South Johor Steel Sdn Bhd (SJS) has come to be one of the largest steel material providers today in Malaysia which specializes in high-quality steel bar cut and bend service which holds a high commitment to limit material wastage, reducing customers’ holding cost, save manpower, minimize risk, improve work & time efficiency and reduce environmental harm.

Our fleet serves as a one-stop center which has been the source of customer satisfaction.

The factory is equipped with the most advanced & suitable Steel Bar fabricating machines capable of producing cut and bend steel bars in every length and shapes with superlative quality with full precision and consistency adhering to the international standards and has a production capacity of up to 30000 metric tonnes per year.

Additionally, other than Rebar Cut and Bend, SJS is also a distributor of all sorts of building materials such as BRC Wire Mesh, Scaffolding, Hollow Sections, I-Beams and many more new and used structural steel in the country.

Our Milestone

1994

Founded as Gary Trading, the business was operated by only 3 people while dealing as a small-scale steel supplier under the lead of the founder Mr. Lee Lai Heng. Gary Trading was in trade of several kinds of new & used building material and gradually creating a specialisation in Rebar Cut & Bend.

Gary Trading has been renamed to South Johor Steel Sdn Bhd (SJS). It was also forward looking in its time with a well-formed a working system with a growing group of workers.

2000

2006

South Johor Steel successfully reached a capacity of trading 700 tons per month. Also developed a rapid growth by being awarded for several construction and building demolition projects. To enhance its efficiency, SJS further improved the working division separating into our Rebar Cut & Bend Division, New & Used Steel Material trading, and Steel Waste Management strictly operated under the lead of several experienced engineers.

Due to the increase in demand of the core service “Rebar Cut and Bend”, South Johor Steel increased its workforce towards approximately 50 employees & imported several semi-auto machineries to boost production productivity to comply with the market opportunity. SJS started to expand the factory structure and invested in the art of technology to simplify tasks while providing a One Stop Steel Solution.

2010

2015

South Johor Steel has successfully penetrated all over Malaysia as a One Stop Steel Solution provider. SJS has been awarded with several major projects collaborating with many trusted contractors which raised our revenue to an all-time high of Malaysian Ringgit 24 Million in revenue. SJS has enlarge the specialisation Rebar Cut and Bend and a distributor of New & Used Steel Material.

With the dynamic capabilities of our team and under the leadership of Mr. Lee Lai Heng, SJS has been able to explore and meet every contractor’s requirement of fast production lead time and quality assured by the sufficient occupancy of machineries and well-trained engineering capabilities. SJS has also hit an incredible millstone of Malaysian Ringgit 50 Million in revenue and has monthly capacity of 2000 tons with a well-established in-house prefabrication and management system.

A leap in productivity with Automation upgrade in the factory, new operations are being expanded to develop prefabricated reinforcement steel bar solutions beyond local market. With honour in complying toward Singapore’s construction standard with the art of technology and knowledge towards reducing environmental waste, improving construction work and time efficiency. Part of the success are to be credited to the dynamic workforce of well-trained engineers & working partners.
